Sergeant John ('Jack') Archibald Graham's official records state that he:
  • was born on 1891 in Araluen, New South Wales
  • worked as a bank clerk and lived in Nambour, Queensland
  • enlisted in Brisbane on 19 October 1914
  • was described as being 5"9' tall, with a fair complexion, grey eyes and brown hair.
  • described himself as Roman Catholic
  • enrolled in the 2nd Light Horse Brigade, 5th Light Horse Regiment, C Squadron.
  • was ranked Corporal / Signaller / Sergeant: Service Number 232.
  • departed Sydney on 21 December 1914, aboard the HMAT Persic, A34.
  • landed at ANZAC Cove, Gallipoli on 20 May 1915 and after served in Gaza, Palestine and Egypt.
  • was awarded:

    • the British War Medal
    • the Victory Medal
  • was discharged from the Service on 24 February 1919.
