Still terribly cold. Thermometer registers 20 deg below at 0800. Last night I had to drink a bottle of rhum before I could get to sleep. I believe my toes are frost bitten.
Thousands have left the Peninsula in the most pitiable conditions. Some with legs, arms and face frost bitten. A good many have died. Abdul blew up Lone Pine today. We had a good many casualties. Battleships bombard Abdul. J. A. Graham
